Three Bee Songs is a choral work in three movements set to three poems by Emily Dickinson — "Bee! I'm Expecting You," "Burnished Carriage," and "Buccaneers of Buzz." The unassuming bee represents a spectrum of emotions from somber to energized. The final movement features the "buzzing" of the chorus, achieved through hocketed part writing. The work has never been performed.
